2026年6月15日〜18日にかけて、日台合同建築デザインワークショップを広島で開催しました。台湾科技大学から学生・教員18名（台湾科技大学・廖硃岑先生、中興大学・張惠雲先生、成功大学・賴啟銘先生）を迎え、日本と台湾の学生が混成グループを構成し、建築・空間デザインの課題に取り組みました。
今回のワークショップでは、広島市内に立つ基町高層アパートメントを対象とし、建設から約50年を迎える中で顕在化している現代的な課題に着目しました。学生グループは、これらの課題に対して建築・空間デザインによって何ができるのかを検討し、再生に向けた提案を行いました。
また、基町高層アパートメント6コア自治会長の板井三那子氏に講義の一部をご担当いただき、住民の視点から現在抱える課題や地域の実情についてお話しいただきました。学生・教員にとって、計画・設計を考える上で大変貴重な学びの機会となりました。

The Taiwan–Japan Joint Architectural Design Workshop was held in Hiroshima from June 15 to 18, 2026. Eighteen students and faculty members from National Taiwan University of Science and Technology visited Hiroshima, including Professor Chu-Tsen Liao from National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, Professor Hui-Yun Chang from National Chung Hsing University, and Professor Chi-Ming Lai from National Cheng Kung University. Students were divided into groups and worked on the assigned design task, presenting their final architectural and spatial planning proposals.
This workshop focused on the Motomachi High-Rise Apartments in Hiroshima. Approximately fifty years after their construction, the housing complex is now facing various contemporary issues. The student groups examined what architectural and spatial design could contribute to addressing these challenges and developed proposals for regeneration.
Ms. Minako Itai, Chairperson of the Residents’ Association of Core 6 at the Motomachi High-Rise Apartments, also gave part of the lecture, sharing with students and faculty members the current issues faced by the housing complex.
