建築構造に関するコンピュータ・シミュレーションが専門。特に建物の地震応答解析を行ってきた。地震時の建物の挙動については未解明な点が多くあり、特に建物の立地する地盤の影響が不明確である。このため地盤‐基礎‐建物を一体として評価した詳細な解析モデルによる検討が必要です。これまでに、原子力発電所、超高層建物、免震建物などについて、地震記録のシミュレーション解析を実施し、新たな解析技術の提案を行ってきた。わが国では、南海トラフ地震をはじめとする大地震の発生は不可避である。これによる被害を低減し、かつ合理的な建築構造を提案するため、学生とともに研究を進めている。

I specialize in computer simulations of building structures, and has been particularly involved in seismic response analysis of buildings. There are many unexplained points about the behavior of buildings during an earthquake, especially the influence of the ground on which the building is located is unclear. For this reason, it is necessary to consider using a detailed analysis model that evaluates the ground, foundation, and building as a whole. So far, we have carried out simulation analyzes of earthquake records for nuclear power plants, skyscrapers, seismically isolated buildings, etc., and proposed new analysis techniques. In Japan, the occurrence of large earthquakes such as the Nankai Trough earthquake is inevitable. In order to reduce the damage caused by this and to propose a rational architectural structure, we are conducting research with students.
